Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. In Prague, your transit options are the metro, trams, and buses. You can buy tickets at metro stops, news agents and other places that have yellow vending machines or “DP” signs. You can’t buy tickets from drivers. The vending machines take only coins but will give the change. You can also travel by taxi, car, bicycle, motorbike or go on foot.
The operating hours for bus routes mirror those of trams. After midnight, twelve night buses (no.s 501-512) run on routes not covered by Prague's trams (although interchange points between the two are bus stops near Muzeum and I.P. Pavlova).
The network of the Prague Metro consists of 3 lines designated by letters and colours: (C) colored with red, (B) yellow, and (A) green. There are 46 stations, 3 cross-stations. The lines are 46 km long. Metro provides transport connection to large Prague stations - Florenc Bus Station, Holesovice Bus Station and Railway Station, Main Railway Station, Masarykovo Railway Station. Metro is operating from 05:00 till 24:00 every day.
